Goa, Sept. 19 -- India's javelin hero Neeraj Chopra endured a rare setback at the World Athletics Championships 2025 in Tokyo, finishing eighth with a best throw of 84.03m. For the first time since 2018, the Olympic and world champion failed to reach the podium, ending a streak of 33 consecutive medal finishes. Chopra, who sat quietly in the dugout after the event, revealed he had suffered an injury during training just days before the competition. While Neeraj struggled, compatriot Sachin Yadav impressed with a fourth-place finish at 86.27m.
