Goa, April 13 -- South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes has raised serious concerns over the state's drinking water quality, alleging that contaminated borewell water is being mixed with the public supply despite a reported clean chit to the Public Works Department (PWD) water division.

Questioning the government's oversight, Fernandes criticised authorities for what he described as a complete failure of multiple departments in ensuring safe drinking water. He asked who would be held accountable for monitoring contamination and safeguarding public health.
