Goa, Oct. 6 -- The historic city of Cuttack, known for its centuries-old communal harmony, remained tense on Sunday following fresh incidents of violence linked to Durga Puja celebrations. The unrest comes two days after clashes during an idol immersion procession.
Authorities and witnesses reported that the trouble began between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM on Saturday in the Dargah Bazaar area. A Durga idol immersion procession heading towards the Kathajodi river was stopped by locals who objected to loud music being played late at night.
