Goa, July 28 -- Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has welcomed the government's move to form a third district in Goa with a focus on the Scheduled Tribes (ST) community but voiced skepticism over its administrative value.
Speaking on the proposed district comprising Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem, and Dharbandora, Sardesai said, "I welcome the decision if it benefits the ST community. But beyond that, there's little hope for real progress. Creating a third district mainly adds to government expenditure. There's no guarantee that administration will actually improve."
