India, Feb. 9 -- Goa Forward Party chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Monday claimed that the renowned BITS Pilani Goa campus is "illegal" and questioned how many students from Goa are actually studying at the institute.

Sardesai alleged that Goans are not deriving any real benefit from the presence of the campus in the state. He raised concerns over whether local students are being adequately represented or supported by the institution.

His remarks come in the wake of the death of a sixth student on the campus, an incident that is currently under investigation by the authorities.
