Verna Police Book Woman, Boyfriend for Allegedly Stealing Mother's Gold, Pledging It for Rs.2 Lakh Loan
Goa, July 20 -- Verna Police have registered an FIR against a woman and her boyfriend for allegedly stealing gold ornaments entrusted to her by her mother and pledging them to secure a loan.
According to the police, the complainant, a resident of Sancoale, stated that she had handed over her gold ornaments to her daughter for safekeeping. However, while the complainant was hospitalised, the daughter allegedly stole the ornaments with the help of her boyfriend.
Police said the couple subsequently eloped and pledged the stolen gold at a finance company in the boyfriend's name to obtain a loan. They are further accused of misappropriating the loan amount for their personal use, causing the complainant a wrongful loss of approximately Rs.2 ...
