Goa, Aug. 18 -- Vasco MLA Shri Krishna V. Salkar distributed financial assistance to members of the Failwale, Daivadnya Brahman, Nabhik, Gadekar and Vishwakarma communities for their traditional role in conducting the annual Paar during the Saptah celebrations.

Salkar has been extending the financial assistance for the past four years in recognition of the communities' efforts to preserve the age-old tradition and ensure its continuation during the annual festivities.

Speaking on the occasion, Salkar said he would request Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Art and Culture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar to extend further support towards preserving the tradition.
