Goa, Aug. 5 -- At least 50 people are feared missing after a devastating cloudburst hit Tharali village in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Tuesday, causing flash floods and a massive landslide. The incident occurred in the catchment area of the Kheer Ganga river.
Disturbing visuals from the scene showed a powerful surge of water cascading down a hillside, sweeping away several houses in its path. Screams of panic-stricken residents echoed through the footage as the deluge struck the village.
Rescue operations are currently underway, and more details are awaited.
