Goa, May 16 -- Panaji Police have arrested a woman from Uttar Pradesh in connection with an alleged gold loan fraud case involving fake jewellery worth Rs.7.35 lakh. According to police, the accused had pledged counterfeit gold ornaments at a bank in Panaji to secure the loan. The incident dates back to April 16, 2025, after which the woman reportedly went absconding. Following a surveillance-based investigation, police tracked and apprehended her. Authorities have also seized documents and jewellery linked to the case as further investigation into the alleged fraud continues.
