TMC Expels Eight Senior Leaders Amid Internal Power Struggle and Rebel Faction Row
Goa, June 24 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday expelled eight senior party leaders amid escalating internal tensions and an ongoing leadership dispute within the organisation.
Those expelled include Javed Ahmed Khan, Firhad Hakim, Arup Roy, Rathin Ghosh, Biplab Mitra, Sabina Yasmin, Aroop Biswas and Snehasis Chakraborty. Earlier in the day, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) had issued show-cause notices to the leaders, accusing them of engaging in activities detrimental to the party's interests.
The action follows a growing rift within the TMC after a rebel faction led by West Bengal Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee announced the formation of a new leadership structure for the party on Monday. The faction appointed...
