Goa, Aug. 15 -- On the eve of Independence Day, three officers from the Goa Police have been named among 1,090 personnel from Central and State forces chosen for national police honours by the Union government.

The awardees from Goa are Superintendent of Police (SP) Gurudas Narayan Gawade and Mormugao Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Gurudas Anand Kadam, who will receive the Medal for Meritorious Service, and Head Constable Zubear Abdul Razak Momin, who will be honoured with the President's Medal for Distinguished Service.
