Goa, Sept. 9 -- Chris Gayle's return to the Indian Premier League in 2011 is widely regarded as one of the league's most extraordinary comebacks. After being snubbed in the IPL auction, struggling with injuries following the ODI World Cup, and even being dropped from the West Indies squad for a home series against Pakistan, Gayle seemed at a low point in his cricketing career.
The turnaround came in an unexpected manner. While enjoying a night out in Jamaica, Gayle received a call from Royal Challengers Bangalore's Vijay Mallya and team mentor Anil Kumble.
