Goa, Sept. 21 -- The escalating dispute between Tata Trusts and Tata Sons over N Chandrasekaran's reappointment has raised a new question: who will pay for the legal battle if the conflict goes to court?

The issue came into focus after Mehli Mistry, a trustee of the Tata Education and Development Trust (TEDT), objected to any possible use of the trust's funds to meet legal expenses linked to the Tata Trusts-Tata Sons dispute.

According to ANI, Mistry wrote to Tata Trusts CEO Siddhartha Sharma, with Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata and fellow TEDT trustee JN Mistry also copied on the email. Mistry said TEDT should not bear any part of the legal expenses arising from the dispute.
