Tarun Tejpal Moves Surrender Application Before North Goa Court Following Supreme Court Order
Goa, Sept. 11 -- Former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal has filed an application before the North Goa Additional Sessions Court detailing the terms for his surrender, in compliance with directions issued by the Supreme Court.
The legal move follows the High Court of Bombay at Goa's August 6 judgment, which overturned his 2021 trial court acquittal and convicted him under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 376(2)(k) for rape by a person in authority. The High Court sentenced Tejpal to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a junior colleague inside a Goa hotel elevator during a 2013 event.
