Supreme Court Directs Normal Metro Operations, Free Movement Amid CJP Protest Curbs in Delhi
Goa, Oct. 11 -- The Supreme Court on Sunday directed authorities to ensure the smooth movement of people across Delhi, while cautioning against unnecessary restrictions imposed in connection with the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
A bench of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana held a special sitting to hear petitions challenging restrictions imposed by the Centre and security agencies during Saturday's protest. The measures included the closure of metro stations, cancellation of trains arriving in Delhi, traffic diversions and the detention of protesters.
