India, Feb. 5 -- Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes on Thursday said smart meters will help improve power consumption monitoring in Goa and allow people to track their daily electricity usage more effectively. He alleged that some individuals opposing the smart meter project are doing so for political gains rather than public interest. Fernandes also highlighted that underground cabling is a beneficial initiative, as it would make fault detection easier compared to existing bundled cable systems.
