Shreyas Iyer to lead India in Zimbabwe as BCCI announces T20I squad
Goa, July 6 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, with Shreyas Iyer appointed captain of the side. The series will be played in Harare on July 23, 25 and 26.
One of the biggest talking points from the squad announcement is the omission of wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, while Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh has earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team. Ishan Kishan has been named the primary wicketkeeper, with Prabhsimran expected to serve as the backup behind the stumps.
