Goa, Aug. 19 -- Dangerous electrical mishap occurred in Mapusa market on Monday night when a man was electrocuted after a damaged underground cable leaked current into the water near the Shakuntala statue.
The victim, en route to a shop, received the shock around 8 pm, prompting nearby shopkeepers to contact the electricity department. Officials quickly inspected the area, identified the faulty underground line, and switched off the market's power supply.
Business owners voiced concerns about poor-quality materials being used for the underground electricity lines, recalling that a cow had been electrocuted in the market just a few days ago.
