Goa, Aug. 6 -- Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced that she intends to return to Bangladesh in December, saying she is prepared to face imprisonment or even death if necessary. Addressing the media virtually on Wednesday, Hasina said her decision was driven by concern for the country's future rather than a desire to regain power.

"I know they may put me in jail or kill me," she said, while affirming her determination to return. "I will go back home to be with my people."
