Goa, July 19 -- India's table tennis legend and 10-time national champion Sharath Kamal said his journey into the sport was shaped by his family's deep involvement in table tennis, as he grew up under the guidance of his father and uncle, who ran a club even before he was born. Speaking during an interaction at Chandor Club, he recalled being inspired by training alongside state and national champions and following in the footsteps of a three-time Olympian produced by the same club. Praising Chandor Club for promoting not only table tennis but several other sports through regular tournaments, Sharath said strong community-led initiatives are essential for nurturing young talent.
