Goa, July 1 -- Prabhu says she stepped down to give other women councillors an opportunity to lead the municipal council.

Sankhali Municipal Council Chairperson Siddhi Prabhu has resigned from her post after completing her tenure, submitting her resignation to the Chief Officer of the council.

Speaking on her decision, Prabhu said she voluntarily stepped down to provide an opportunity for other women councillors to serve as Chairperson and take on leadership responsibilities within the municipal body.

Her resignation marks the completion of her tenure at the helm of the Sankhali Municipal Council. The process to appoint or elect a new Chairperson is expected to be taken up in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
