Goa, May 18 -- Salvador do Mundo Sarpanch Namrata Chodankar and the village panchayat have denied allegations of allowing illegal cremation activity in an eco-sensitive area, clarifying that the visuals were part of a Marathi film shoot. According to the panchayat, the film crew had obtained official permission after paying the required fees. Chodankar stated that a brief cremation sequence lasting around 30 minutes was staged solely for filming purposes. She maintained that the incident was wrongly interpreted, which led to unnecessary controversy and confusion surrounding the activity shown at the location.
