Goa is in real turmoil, with protests, PILs and agita tions over mega projects, constructions on hills, slopes, fields, water catchment areas, etc, felling of trees, unnecessary land acquisition for widening of roads, coal, double tracking, ca sinos and much more - all these to meet the insatiable personal greed of those in power who wish to cling to power by stoop ing to any level to please those who matter and finance them to survive, without a thought about the fate of their people. The government wouldn't have had to beat a hasty re treat on some of its misadven tures had it been more pru dent and taken stakeholders and residents into confidence in advance.
