Goa, May 31 -- Ahead of the IPL 2026 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar proposed several changes to the tournament's playing conditions, arguing that the current format favours batters too heavily.

Speaking at the ESPNcricinfo Awards, Tendulkar expressed concerns over the Impact Player rule, which was introduced in 2023. The rule allows teams to bring in a substitute player during a match, often strengthening batting line-ups.

According to Tendulkar, bowlers are already under immense pressure in the T20 format, and adding an extra batter further tilts the balance. He said the game needs adjustments to ensure fair competition between bat and ball.
