Goa, Aug. 9 -- Could travellers one day travel from Russia to India by train? A proposal from Russia has raised the possibility of a new long-distance railway connection linking the country with the Indian Ocean and potentially providing an overland route to India.

The proposal was put forward by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin in an interview with TASS. He said Russia should explore alternative transportation routes to reduce its dependence on key maritime corridors, including the Bosphorus and the Strait of Hormuz.
