India, March 27 -- Rohit Monserrate has indicated that his tenure as Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will be brief, as he prepares to shift focus towards upcoming Assembly elections.

Speaking about his priorities, Monserrate said that despite the expected short stint, his focus will remain firmly on the development of Panaji and on fulfilling the promises made to the electorate.

He emphasised that key civic issues and infrastructure improvements in the capital city will continue to receive attention during his tenure. At the same time, his remarks signal a clear political intent to transition to a larger role in state politics.
