Road Cutting, Excavation Ban Extended Across District Till October 5 Amid Monsoon
Goa, Aug. 8 -- The Collector and District Magistrate has extended the ban on road cutting, excavation and digging activities across the district until October 5, 2026, citing public safety concerns and monsoon-related risks.
The order has been issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, extending the earlier order dated June 3. The restriction aims to safeguard lives and property and prevent damage to public infrastructure during the rainy season.
However, exceptions may be considered in genuine emergency situations, particularly where excavation or road cutting is required to restore essential services such as water supply, sewerage, electricity, telecommunications and gas.
