Goa, Oct. 20 -- With just two weeks left for the Bihar Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has announced a list of 143 candidates for the upcoming polls. In a move that hints at potential friction within the Mahagathbandhan, the RJD has fielded candidates in four constituencies where its ally, the Congress, has already named nominees. The RJD's list includes 24 women and 18 Muslim candidates.
Under the Mahagathbandhan's seat-sharing formula, RJD contests 143 seats, Congress 55, CPIML 20, CPI 6, CPM 4, and VIP 15. With Congress having already announced 60 seats, some constituencies are expected to witness friendly contests.
