Goa, Nov. 7 -- Residents of Malshe Curti have finally breathed a sigh of relief as the long-pending repair work on the old bridge in Ward 5 commenced with the installation of steel structures. The 25-metre-long bridge over the main nullah had deteriorated over time, posing a major threat to locals who relied on it daily. Local panch member and former sarpanch Nilkant Naik shared that after several appeals from residents, he personally approached the Water Resources Department (WRD) seeking immediate attention to the matter. Responding promptly, the department began the renovation work a few months ago, but progress was halted due to heavy monsoon rains. With the rains now over, the project has resumed and is expected to be completed soon....
