Goa, Sept. 19 -- The brutal assault on Rama Kankonkar has triggered a wave of political outrage across Goa, with opposition leaders slamming the BJP-led government for lawlessness and failure to ensure public safety.

Goa Forward Party Chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai strongly criticized the ruling dispensation, accusing the "double engine sarkar" of creating "Jungle Raj" in the state. "They preach Ram Rajya while Rama is being beaten. NSA must be invoked against those involved," Sardesai said.
