Goa, Oct. 3 -- A tragic incident has left the Bharatpur district in shock, as a two-year-old boy, Tirthraj, has become the third suspected victim of poisoning linked to a commonly prescribed children's cough syrup. Despite being referred to three hospitals, the toddler could not be saved.
According to reports, Tirthraj and his four-year-old brother Lalit visited a district hospital in Weir on the morning of September 23 with symptoms of cough and cold. Both children were prescribed a cough syrup containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
