Goa, June 15 -- Normal life across Goa was thrown out of gear on Saturday as heavy rains, accompanied by gusty winds, disrupted power supply in several areas due to the uprooting of trees and branches falling on overhead electricity wires and poles.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for South Goa, warning of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated locations. North Goa also experienced very heavy rainfall at isolated places and heavy rainfall in a few areas throughout the day.
