Goa, Sept. 1 -- The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has announced its strong opposition to the proposed double tracking of the Vasco-Hospet railway line, which it claims is intended for coal transportation.

The party criticised MLAs Digambar Kamat, Reginaldo Lourenco, and Sankalp Amonkar, pointing out that they had once joined anti-coal protests at Chandor but were now silent. GFP further accused the State Government of acting as a "Yes Man" to the Central BJP and alleged that the ruling dispensation had also betrayed the youth of Goa.
