Goa, Aug. 12 -- In a disturbing case reported from Quepem, police have arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping his minor sister over a period of five years. The arrest followed a formal complaint filed by the victim at the Quepem Police Station on Monday, with the assistance of local activists.

According to Advocate Pratima Coutinho, who spoke toO Heraldo, the victim revealed that the abuse began years ago and continued until recently. She alleged that her brother not only sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions but also inflicted severe physical violence. The girl was reportedly assaulted on her legs so badly that she could barely walk at the time of lodging her complaint.
