Goa, July 6 -- A court in Punjab's Mohali district has remanded Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former state minister Bikram Singh Majithia to judicial custody for two weeks in connection with a high-profile disproportionate assets case. He will be lodged at New Nabha Jail until the next hearing, scheduled for July 19.

Majithia was arrested on June 25, 2025, by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau under the Prevention of Corruption Act. He is accused of laundering over Rs.540 crore allegedly linked to drug trafficking proceeds and acquiring assets far beyond his known income.
