Goa, April 17 -- A public meeting will be held at Lohia Maidan on April 19, 2026, to raise awareness about the importance of respecting, preserving, and promoting the Konkani language.

The event aims to bring together Konkani lovers, writers, cultural activists, and members of the public to discuss ways to strengthen the use of the mother tongue in daily life, education, and administration. Prominent speakers and cultural figures are expected to address the gathering.

Organisers have appealed to citizens across Goa to attend the meeting in large numbers and demonstrate solidarity in support of Konkani.
