Goa, April 15 -- Mahila Congress President Pratiksha Khalap has called for a wider debate and public consultation on the proposed Women's Reservation Bill, stating that while the legislation is necessary, it must follow due process.
Khalap expressed concern over the lack of discussion surrounding the bill, emphasising the need for transparency and inclusive dialogue before its implementation. She argued that key constitutional steps, including the national census and delimitation exercise, should be completed first.
Highlighting potential implications, she warned that proceeding without these processes could adversely affect democratic principles and the federal structure of the country.
