Goa, Aug. 16 -- The footpath adjoining the jogging track in Fatorda, Margao has become unsafe for pedestrians due to unchecked overgrown vegetation. What was meant to serve as a public utility space now resembles a narrow pathway through fields, residents complained, pointing out that the stretch not only looks unkempt but also poses safety risks.
Locals using the track for morning walks and exercise said the overgrowth forces pedestrians onto the road, exposing them to traffic hazards. Besides creating an unpleasant sight in one of Margao's busy suburbs, the neglected footpath has also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and snakes, adding to health and safety concerns.
