India, March 17 -- The North Goa District and Sessions Court has sought an update from Goa Police on the progress of the investigation into the assault on activist Rama Kankonkar.

During the hearing, the court questioned the status of the probe and directed the Investigating Officer to submit a detailed progress report. The direction came after the completion of arguments on the bail application filed by the accused in the case.

The matter is expected to come up for further hearing once the investigation report is submitted, as the court continues to monitor developments in the case.
