Goa, Oct. 12 -- The growing differences between Noel Tata and N Chandrasekaran over the direction of Tata Sons have raised questions about the balance of ownership, boardroom authority and management control at one of India's largest business groups. The dispute also highlights the financial stakes for the Tata family, whose wealth is closely linked to the group's businesses, particularly Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Tata Trusts, chaired by Noel Tata, owns roughly two-thirds of Tata Sons, the holding company of the 158-year-old Tata Group. Chandrasekaran serves as chairman of Tata Sons, overseeing the group's corporate leadership.
