India, Jan. 31 -- Claiming success for his river rejuvenation initiative, Benaulim MLA Captain Venzy Viegas said no garbage is being dumped at the Kharenband Sal River anymore. He stated that a focused cleanup and beautification drive has led to improved water quality and cleaner surroundings. Viegas also claimed that people have stopped openly defecating near the river, indicating a positive change in public behaviour. According to him, shifting mindsets among locals have contributed significantly to safeguarding the river's health. The MLA described the project as a step towards long-term environmental protection.
