Goa, April 17 -- The Goa Consumer Action Network (GOACAN) has raised concerns over the absence of mandatory information displays at ongoing underground cable-laying works along National Highway 66.
According to GOACAN, there are no signboards at the work sites indicating key details such as the name of the contractor, the stipulated timeline for completion, or emergency contact numbers. The organisation has expressed alarm over what it describes as negligence by the authorities in ensuring transparency in projects funded by public money.
Highlighting the issue, GOACAN stated that consumers have a fundamental right to be informed about public works, especially when it involves infrastructure development and expenditure from public funds....
