New Goa scheme offers financial aid for mud crab farming units
Goa, July 6 -- The Goa government has introduced a new scheme, "Financial Assistance for Setting up of Crab Farming Unit in Goa," to encourage commercial mud crab farming and strengthen sustainable aquaculture. The scheme, valid for three years, provides financial support for Pen Culture and Vertical Box Crab Culture units. General category beneficiaries can receive subsidies of up to Rs 4 lakh, while SC/ST applicants and women beneficiaries are eligible for assistance of up to Rs 4.8 lakh. Fish farmers, traditional fishermen, individuals, self-help groups and societies can apply to improve livelihoods and expand eco-friendly aquaculture across the state.
