MAPUSA, Aug. 14 -- Nerul Veterans registered a 5-3 win over Varca Veterans to move ahead in the 1st All Goa Veterans football tournament in memory of Babli Govekar organised by Anjuna Veterans at Tembi ground, Anjuna, on Thursday. The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time.

It was Prasad Dabholkar, who opened the account for Nerul Veterans with a neat placement only to find Agnelo Fernandes level terms for Varca Veterans 1-1. In the penalty shoot-out, Nerul Veterans won by 4-2 margin. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Domingos Fernandes of Nerul Veterans by Felix Lobo. Earlier, Siolim Veterans won by 1-0.
