Goa, June 21 -- More than 22 lakh students are appearing for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, weeks after the original test was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has put in place extensive security arrangements to ensure the examination is conducted fairly and smoothly across the country.

The re-test is being held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 overseas locations. Candidates were allowed to enter centres from 11 am, with strict frisking and biometric verification procedures in place. The NTA has advised students to arrive early, while Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged aspirants to remain calm and appear for the exam fearlessly. ...
