Goa, July 29 -- The Molcornem Village Panchayat has elected a new Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch following the successful no-confidence motion passed against former Sarpanch Rajesh Gaonkar and former Deputy Sarpanch Frankey Colaco.

In the election held on Tuesday, Nagu Gaonkar was elected as the new Sarpanch of the Molcornem Village Panchayat, while Seema Naik was chosen as the new Deputy Sarpanch.

The election was conducted after the previous Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch lost the confidence of the majority of panch members through a no-confidence motion.

With the election of the new leadership, the Molcornem Village Panchayat is expected to resume its administrative functions under the newly elected Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch.
