Goa, July 29 -- Passengers on board the Vasco-Kulem local train were left stranded on Monday after a minor fire reportedly broke out in the engine near Dabolim. Though the situation was quickly brought under control, the incident caused a delay in service, prompting some passengers to continue their journey on foot.

According to sources, the train was halted following smoke detection in the engine compartment. Emergency protocols were activated, and no injuries were reported. The railway authorities arranged for a replacement engine, but the delay led several commuters to disembark and proceed on foot along the tracks.
