Goa, Sept. 12 -- A joint operation by the Telangana Counter Intelligence, Hyderabad Task Force and Malkajgiri Police has solved the theft of a cache of military-grade weapons and ammunition from the Madras Regiment armoury in Secunderabad.

The stolen firearms and ammunition were recovered following a 10-day investigation, bringing the case to a breakthrough.

The theft was reported on August 31 after a Lieutenant Colonel of the Madras Regiment approached Bollaram Police Station in Hyderabad's Malkajgiri police zone. The officer reported that the locks of two armoury storage rooms, situated around 40 metres apart, had been broken.
