Goa, April 10 -- The Merces Vaddem Creek has emerged as a growing health concern, with foul odour and visible pollution affecting the surrounding area.
Residents have raised alarm over untreated sewage discharge and accumulation of garbage that have choked the creek, worsening environmental conditions and posing potential health risks. Locals say the deteriorating state has made the area increasingly unlivable, especially during warmer days when the stench intensifies.
Citizens are now demanding immediate intervention from authorities, including desilting of the creek and strict measures to curb waste dumping. They have also called for a long-term restoration plan to revive the water body and prevent further degradation.
