Massive Monsoon Cloud Belt Signals Heavy Rain Across India
Goa, July 23 -- Satellite imagery has revealed a spectacular monsoon rain band stretching between 7,000 and 10,000 kilometres from north India across the Himalayas, China and up to South Korea, marking one of the most active phases of the 2026 southwest monsoon. Meteorologists say the enormous cloud formation is a monsoon convergence zone, created when moisture-laden winds from the Indian Ocean interact with weather systems across Asia.
